There are 10 projects under construction or planned in the City of Kapolei.  The projects are a mix of retail, office, government, and residential communities -- four of which are already under construction and six are in various stages of planning.

 

1.  Kapolei Pacific Center, a complex of two office towers and ground floor retail by Avalon Development Company will break ground in 2009.

 

2.  Kapolei Credit Union Plaza, a planned project by Aloha Pacific Credit Union will be located across from the planned transit center, and will be jointly owned and occupied by five O'ahu credit unions.  Completion is slated for 2012.

 

3.  Maryl Group is in the planning stages for its office and retail commplex on Uluohia Street across from Kapolei Hale.

 

4.  Kapolei Promenade is a planned retail complex by Low Archibald Real Estate Group.  Located across from Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park, the parcel is undergoing subdivision.

 

5.  Kapolei Commons is under construction with a planned spring 2009 opening.  Sports Authority, anchor tenant Target, Office Max, and Petco will be the first tenants to open for business in the shopping center.  A joint project of Kobayashi Group, the center will also include Kua Aina, the party supply store Let's Party, L'Mour Nails, Red Mango yogurt shop, and a multi-screen Regal Cinemas.

 

6.  Costco Warehouse and Gas Station, located across from Home Depot, is under construction and will open in spring 2009.

 

7.  Kapolei Court Complex, which is under construction, is located next to Costco, and will house the Family Court, the Waianae District Court, and a juvenile detention center.  It is expected to open in spring 2010.

 

8.  Kapolei Village Center by Foodland Super Market, Ltd. is a community shopping cneter near the planned Mehana residential community.  It will open in 2010.

 

9.  Mehana at Kapolei is a master planned mixed-use residential community being dveloped by DR Horton along the southern border of the City of Kapolei.  The project is under construction and is slated for completion in 2015.

 

10. Leihano is a planned active adult and continuing care community located next to the Kapolei Regional Park.
