Two new projects are preparing to break ground in 2009:  Kapolei Village Center and Haumea Center at Kapolei

Kapolei Village Center
Foodland will anchor the 57,930 square-foot Kapolei Village Center, occupying a little over half the space.  The balance is targeted for uses such as financial services, fast food and sit-down restaurants, apparel and gifts, personal care, electronic and medical services.

"We're delighted that our vision of opening a new Foodland to serve the Kapolei community has moved one step closer to reality with the recent completion of the land purchase," said Jenai S. Wall, Foodland Chairman and CEO.  "We look forward to breaking ground and starting construction in the near future."

The project, which is located at the future intersection of Kapolei Parkway and Wakea Street, is scheduled to break ground in fourth quarter 2009, and open in fourth quarter 2010.  The center is expected to create more than 100 jobs.

Haumea Center at Kapolei
Haumea Center at Kapolei will be a five-story, 142,456 square-foot retail/office condominium complex.  Located on Kamokila Boulevard next to Assaggio and across from the State office building, the center's telecommunications infrastructure is designed for technology companies, as well as architects, attorneys, accountants and medical professionals looking for high tech, high security data storage.

"Our goal is to create a technology center that provides tenants the latest broadband technology for faster, clearer connectivity," said Larry Stogdell, Haumea Center's developer.

Haumea Center will be a LEED Certified complex, with office and retal space now available for lease or purchase.  The project will break ground in summer 2009, with planned completion in September 2010.  A development of L.A. Anuenue, LLC, the center is expected to generate about 540 well-paid jobs.
